T.K. Kang is a Clinical Psychologist. Born in Malaysia he was educated in Malaysia, England and Hong Kong. He joined the Personal Development and Counselling Centre (PDCC) in 1997 after returning from Australia. His area of speciality include cross-cultural counselling, medical/ rehabilitation psychology and technology application in human service. He has been actively involved for many years in Hong Kong and Australia in promoting the use of electronic technology for rehabilitation and community work. In Hong Kong he started the first electronic self-help group for people with disabilities which was awarded the best self-help group by the Social-Welfare Department in 1994. He organised the highly successful annual IT for People with Disabilities conference from 1991 to 1994 and has received past project sponsorships from companies like AT&T and ITWeek. His 1995 paper Electronic Self-help: A Vision for People with Disabilities reflect the insight he has on how empowering technology can be on human development.


He is now responsible for providing and developing counselling services and programs to help student develop competency and leadership abilities to meet the changing demand brought about by Information Technology (IT) and the global digital environment.
